The Vortex of Cricket
Noman Ali made history for Pakistan cricket on Day 1 of the Test match against the West Indies by becoming the first Pakistani Spinner to take a hat-trick in Test cricket. He dismissed Justin Greaves (caught by Babar Azam at slip), Tevin Imlach (sweeping on his first ball), and Kevin Sinclair (caught by Babar Azam again at slip) in the 12th over, reducing the visitors from 38/4 to 38/7.

Previously, all Pakistan Test hat-tricks were taken by pacers, including Wasim Akram (twice), Abdul Razzaq, Mohammad Sami, and Naseem Shah. Pakistan head coach Aaqib Javed defended the use of spin-friendly tracks, suggesting it could have bolstered their World Test Championship chances earlier.
